In their own words - a Client's Mental and Physical Rejuvenation
This blog was written by a client of mine, who came to me and wanted to make changes, and outlined below is her journey.
To add some context and background, about my wonderful client. Faye leads an extraordinary active life as a busy Mum and wife to her young family. She juggles this along with being a successful self employed entrepreneur, running her award winning business Freelance Mums. Faye wanted to engage with myself and the services I offer, and here in her own words, is her journey and the mental and physical transformation she has undertaken...
“I've been meaning to post this for ages, but I'm aware that health/weight/fitness/exercise, is such a can of worms these days, but it's been really good for me and I thought it might help someone else.
I embarked on Personal Training 6 weeks ago, because I wanted to feel stronger and fitter again. I say this with a degree of hesitancy, because I don't suffer with body confidence and I love my body, whatever version of myself I see in the mirror. But I see it that my body is a vessel and I want to look after it.
I also hesitate, because I know we are all different and because ultimately, our journey with exercise and attitude to our body is such a personal one.
I've always been pretty fit and active, but the bottom line was clothes weren't as comfortable as they used to be. I'd cut myself slack, saying I'm not awfully awful, but also knowing I wasn't looking or feeling my best.
I don't have the desire to run marathons or half marathons, like I did before children, but I love that feeling when my body aches the next day, after a really good work out!
That perpetual cycle of 'I want to feel better', 'but you don't look that bad' was doing my head in! So after the summer I thought enough was enough and decided to embark on Personal Training.
I don't need to tell you it's hard when you're running your own business and you're a mother, trying to fit it all in. And I'm not going to lie, there were some weeks when trying to shoehorn a PT session in, was a challenge as well - but it was SO good for me!
The simple truth is, working out from my home, was the best fit for me. I could work up to the wire and pick up the threads again (or the girls!) as soon as I was done. More to the point, mentally it was so uplifting - I felt so charged after!
On Monday, I'd been training for 6 weeks and discovered I'd lost 10cm on my hips and 4.5cm on my waist! I can't tell you how over the moon I was! More to the point, my fitness has definitely improved and I feel so much better as a result of it. In fact, I'm going to keep it up, because it's been so good for me on so many levels.
I'm just putting it out there, because it might be useful to another fab Freelance Mum. I've been training with Ben from LiveLife Health & Fitness - he's newish in business and a top chap. If you mention you're an FM he'll pop together a package for you.
It's so good to physically feel like myself again - well, for the time being away! X”
